ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Account & subscriptions

Registration, device changes, subscription updates, and account credentials.

Do I need an email address to register?

No email address is required. You can register with a username and password. Save both securely, and avoid enabling autofill on public devices. After registering, open the user panel to choose a plan. If you only want to review the service first, browse the plans and routes pages without submitting any additional information.

Do I need to buy again when I switch devices?

No. 74VPN supports an unlimited number of devices, and the same account can be used on Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. After switching devices, sign in to the user panel and retrieve the client and current subscription again. When an old device is no longer in use, delete any saved subscription configuration from it so it does not remain accessible to others.

How should I update the subscription link?

Disconnect the current connection in the client first, then use the client’s update subscription or refresh configuration function. If the update fails, sign in to the user panel, retrieve the current subscription again, and replace the old configuration in the client. Do not forward subscription contents to anyone or paste them on a public page. After updating, check that the route list has loaded again before choosing a route.

What should I do if I forget my username or password?

An email address is not required for registration, so users must store their username and password securely. First check your password manager, saved browser login records, and personal backups. If you still cannot access the account, describe the issue through the support ticket entry in the user panel. Include information that can help verify the order, but never send your password or subscription contents on a public page.

CONNECTION / CLIENT

Connections & troubleshooting

Connection status, app routing, exit verification, and repeated disconnections.

The client says it is connected, but webpages still will not open. What should I do?

Disconnect and switch to another route, then reopen the target webpage. If the issue persists, fully quit and relaunch the client, and confirm that the system time is correct and the subscription is up to date. You can also test a regular webpage and the target app separately to determine whether the issue affects the whole connection or only one app. After testing, check the exit IP to confirm that traffic is passing through the selected route.

Why is a particular app not using the proxy?

A common cause is split tunneling: the client’s rules may have assigned the app to the local connection. Switch the client to a mode that covers all traffic and test again. If the app works then, review the split-tunneling rules. Also check that the app is not using its own network settings. After making changes, fully close and reopen the app so it does not keep reusing the old connection.

What should I do if the old exit still appears after switching routes?

Disconnect the old route and wait until the connection has fully ended before selecting a new one. Browsers and apps may continue using existing connections, so close the original page or fully quit the relevant app before testing again. If the exit remains unchanged, restart the client and refresh the subscription. Check both the exit IP and DNS results during verification; do not rely only on the client’s connected icon.

What order should I follow when the client keeps disconnecting?

First confirm that the local network can open commonly used webpages normally. Then update the subscription and switch routes. Close any other tools that may also be managing the system network, leaving only one client running. If the issue occurs only on one network, test it on another network for comparison. If the connection is still unstable, submit a support ticket through the user panel with the platform, symptoms, and steps already completed.

SPEED / ROUTING

Speed & routes

Peak-hour slowdowns, target regions, video buffering, and route distance.

What should I do about slowdowns during peak hours?

The local network, cross-border link, and target service may all become congested during peak hours. Stop background downloads and cloud sync first, then update the subscription in the client and switch to another route in the same region. For video, lower the quality first to check whether the connection remains continuous, then increase it gradually. If several regions are slow, test regular webpages and the target service separately, record the affected routes and time periods, and submit a support ticket.

How should I choose routes for webpages, AI tools, and streaming?

Choose the country or region required by the target service first, then compare real-world connection performance. For regular webpages, prioritize consistent response times. For AI tools that require long-running sessions, avoid switching exits frequently. For streaming, check both regional content and uninterrupted playback. 74VPN covers 90+ countries / 200+ routes, so you can compare different routes within the same target region.

Why does the speed test look normal while video still buffers?

A speed test reflects only part of the path between the test server and your current route; it does not represent the actual delivery path to the target video service. First make sure background tasks are not using bandwidth, then switch to another route in the same region and reopen the player. If playback starts normally but buffers later, check whether the issue occurs only on a particular platform or in a particular region to distinguish route congestion from restrictions on the service side.

Does a more distant route always mean slower performance?

Physical distance affects the round-trip path, but it is not the only factor. The carrier’s exit, cross-border routing, route type, and the target service’s location can all change the experience. Do not judge routes by map distance alone or rely on a single speed test. Compare them using the same device, network, and target service, and keep the route with the more stable continuous access.

BILLING / REFUND

Billing & refunds

Monthly subscriptions, data packages, plan upgrades, payment methods, and refund requests.

What monthly subscription tiers are available, and when does traffic reset?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB · ¥18/month includes 250GB · ¥28/month includes 500GB. Traffic resets monthly on the activation date. Choose based on your browsing, file transfer, and video usage rather than a single peak reading. If your usage changes, check the current plan and remaining traffic in the user panel before deciding whether to adjust it.

Does a data package reset every month?

No. Data packages remain valid until used and never expire. Tiers: ¥158/300GB · ¥358/1000GB · ¥658/3000GB. They suit users with irregular usage who prefer to consume data as needed. This differs from monthly subscriptions, which reset on the activation date, so check your usage cycle and traffic needs before choosing.

How is a mid-cycle monthly subscription upgrade calculated?

The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is converted into the remaining number of days. Before proceeding, verify the current plan, remaining traffic, and new tier in the user panel, then confirm the upgrade using the information shown on the page. Do not create multiple orders for the same purpose. If the page status does not match expectations, pause and submit a ticket describing the current plan and upgrade steps to avoid duplicate processing.

How do I request a refund, and which payment methods are supported?

74VPN offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund and supports Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. To apply, sign in to the user panel, submit a support ticket, select the relevant order, and explain the refund request. Keep the order status and payment record before submitting, and avoid sending the same request more than once. The refund policy page governs eligibility and processing; follow-up replies are available in the ticket.
